Stepmom, and other random opinions

Last night called for a little bit of grocery shopping and relaxation.  And by relaxation, I mean, eating pizza and watching incredibly cheesy movies.

Enter the movie, Stepmom, starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon.

I've got Julia Roberts' character's back 100% in this movie.  Susan Sarandon is the biggest bitch mom character in the world.  I would've punched her in the face for all of the shit she pulled in this film.  Being all jealous and pulling that bullshit buying those Pearl Jam tickets.  That was Julia's IDEA!!!

(YES...these are the ponderings of my mind.  I get a little personal when it comes to my movies.)

The coolest part of Stepmom is that it takes place in New York, and they use this AMAZING house as one of the main scenes.  I love big homey-looking houses.

Anyway, speaking of New York, and figuring I'm due to run off on some random tangent....I suppose I should say something about 9/11.  I mean, everyone else is, right?

But, what I have to say isn't probably what the majority of the population wants to hear.  While I'm all for remembering the ones we've lost, I'm not a fan of the super crazy anniversary memorial bullshit.  And this is JUST MY OPINION, but I feel like by making the anniversary of it such a huge deal, we bring back all of the pain and anger even more, which....let's face it....is exactly what those heartless terrorist bastards wanted.

I know, I know....we can't go on like nothing happened.  I'm not an idiot.  It was a VERY BIG DEAL, and a TERRIBLE TRAGEDY.  And maybe I would feel completely opposite if I had lost someone, but I kind of think not.  Humbly, I think that we should redirect that sadness into something more positive.  Honor those that have died, but celebrate the fact that we are still alive and free.  Appreciate what we have each and every day, and remember that we aren't guaranteed tomorrow.

And that's all....my opinion on my little soapbox or whatever.

On Sunday I will probably operate just the same as I do any other day.  I'll be glad for what and who I've got in my life.  Think I'm cold, if you will, but we all deal with things differently.  And that is all you will hear from me on the subject.

Happy weekending!
