Ken Follett - Round 2

I forgot that I had promised my latest book review on Thursday last week, and then totally went off on my vegetarian tangent Friday instead.

So, I'll get my ass back on track today. I just finished reading World Without End by Ken Follett, which is the follow-up to The Pillars Of The Earth.


To put it bluntly, the second book is pretty damn good, but not as good as the first. But isn't that always the case?

HERE BE SPOILERS:
In this book, even more so than in Pillars, Ken Follett DRAGS out the adversity put against the characters in this story until the very end. Then, abruptly, all is well. We all know that life was much rougher in those days, but come on, Follett, give a dog a bone for once!


All in all, definitely worth reading, but expect more of the same. 1,000 pages more of the same to be more specific.
