The day after I landed in good old Indiana for the holidays was what I will deem "family day." Two family gatherings...lots of food....lots of gifts. And lots of gossip.
I mean, seriously, what is it about older women, family gatherings, and straight up talking shit?
...and did I forget to mention that they are usually talking shit about each other? Not to each others faces of course...that would make too much sense.
When I'm not around, I can only imagine what they say about me:
"She still doesn't have a boyfriend?"
"She's some crazy liberal anyway...over living in Seattle with all of those gay folks running around everywhere."
"She didn't come to _____'s wedding, and she didn't send a gift either." (Guilty as charged.)
"Wonder what color her hair will be this year?"
"She doesn't still talk to that crazy ex, does she?"
"I heard she was a drunk."
"Well, I wonder if she's a lesbian or something."
"Did you know she lives with a guy? Annnnddd they aren't together."
"She's been writing all of this crazy nonsense in this blog."
"What's a blog?" (Haha...had to through this in for the technically challenged in my family.)
Well, today my blog is an outlet to vent about all you old hens...my own version of gossiping! But, to answer everyone's questions, respectively....
I'm dating someone.
I like the gay folks, they are no different than you or I...everyone could use to spread the love around, no matter what their sexual preference.
I'm sending a housewarming gift instead.
Brunette...no further plans to go back to blonde, but I reserve the right to change my mind. I am a woman for Christ-sake.
Crazy ex was soooo two years ago. Long gone.
I'm not a drunk, but sometimes I like to get drunk...there's a difference =). The partying has scaled back significantly in the past year in general.
That someone I'm dating...is a guy. I have always entertained a very healthy heterosexual sex life. ;)
My roommate is a guy too. And he has a girlfriend.
Yes, I've been writing. It's very healthy...specifically to vent about the bullshit in my life.
Any other questions?
