Worthless pennies

People are soooo negative when it comes to pennies. And so many places don't take them, or hate taking them. And I don't necessarily blame them.

What I wonder, is that if no one wants to take them as payment....why do we still have them?

I CANNOT LIE. I have totally been that person that has had to bring in a shitload of change to buy gas before. GUILTY AS CHARGED.

But come on, vending machines don't even take pennies.

I did establish yesterday that the metro buses in Seattle DO take them! I had run out of money on my bus pass and opted to pay the fare using dollars and cents. When getting ready to hop off, I realized that I was a nickel short of exact fare....but I DID have five pennies. Did I dare give it a try? Why, HELL YES I did. Worked like a charm.

But really, they are more of a nuisance than anything, aren't they?

They're supposedly lucky, although I'm not sure I buy into that theory much.

Random rant of the day...hope you enjoyed it.

I hate Coinstar, actually. When I'm down to the point of needing to cash in my change, I need every last cent, and there goes Coinstar, wanting to shave a little off the top for themselves....damn them!
