Christmas decor

My Christmas decor is only a year old and it already feels completely recycled. Which may be because most of it actually is.

The only piece of decor that I have actually bought myself is my twee little silver Christmas tree. Everything else has been gifted to me, passed down to me, or something of sentimental value from my youth that I have bundled up and taken with me from Indiana to Phoenix to Seattle.

I guess I just can't seem to justify spending a bunch of money on Christmas decorations, specifically when I can hardly afford to buy all of the gifts I need to buy for my family and friends! Most of my friends will just get cute sentimental cards, because they also understand the need for thrifty-ness, and that's just more of my style in general. I prefer getting cards myself.

But the fam...that's another story. Twee little me has to get gifts for all of my immediate family, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and my sister's three children, and one step-child. Not to mention the extra gift I have to get for someone in my extended family for our Christmas celebration.

Sigh...goodbye paycheck.

It is oh so much fun watching everyone open the gifts you got them though. I honestly think giving is much better than receiving in that respect.

Sorry I haven't been too entertaining this week, folks...I had a touch of the flu and it appears to have screwed up my sleep schedule and halfway shut down my brain :(. It will all come back to me at some point!

Maybe you should suggest to your family to do a secret Santa deal.
