I used to collect trinkets.
When I was growing up, I accumulated everything from funky scientific-looking paperweights to porcelain unicorns. Random bottles of sand, and souvenirs from little vacations cluttered the top of my entertainment center.
This collection of trinkets still exists, somewhere in the scores of boxes from my childhood that haunt the attic of my parents' house.
I keep telling myself that each time I go home I'm going to go through all of that old stuff...ship out the stuff I want to keep, and throw away or pass on the things that I don't want/need.
Orrrr...I could just continue to leave it at my parents' place, only to be re-discovered somewhere down the line.
There are some very specific things that I am planning on shipping out west when I make it home for this Christmas. Specifically...my ice skates! Winter weather fun abounds out here, and as I haven't gotten my ski legs yet, I can surely put those skates to use :).
Who knows what else I will run into along the way whilst delving through the wild jungle of childhood treasures. Could end up being quite surprising.
