Time for a little bit of Christmas spirit

BAH HUMBUG.

So yeah...I am one of those people that absolutely REFUSE to put up any Christmas decorations until it's ACTUALLY DECEMBER.

I'm sorry, but the whole commercial Christmas thing is just getting a little out of control these days. Take the whole Black Friday phenomenon for instance...complete madness. Or stupidity. I get the need to save money when times are tough, but the fact that you have to camp out and trample folks in order to save that money...PLEASE.

And oh the commercialism of this holiday...between Christmas and Valentine's Day, I'm not sure which is worse (probably Christmas, actually). And the horrible commercials. Ugh.

From late November through the beginning of next year, I shall be avoiding all shopping malls. I have to head a couple thousand miles away for Christmas, so I get the luxury of shopping online from home and having everything shipped to my parents' place! Talk about ease and comfort. I fly home, have to do a little wrapping, and VOILA!

On another note, being single during the holidays has it's pros and cons. Pros: no extra shopping, no pressure for the "perfect" gift. Cons: twee bit of depression/loneliness, and fewer gifts!

I'm actually more of a card person, to be truthful. A good card with a nice note inside means a helluva lot more to me than a gift. A heartfelt message goes a long way.

So, it's time to start some decorating today. Maybe that will lift my spirits a little....we shall see.
