ALRIGHT, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE FUCKING GUTTER. Sheesh..I just started dating again, people. It WAS rocking last night though....literally....the wind was bad!
If you haven't already concluded by the statement above, I hung out with "front runner" last night (aka fishing boy). Their little crew of five fisher-people had to take off at 3:30 a.m. this morning to head out to Hood Canal, so he invited me to hang out and watch a movie on the boat. We watched The Hangover, which made laughs for me because I hadn't seen it yet. Very appropriate, if I do say so myself...I'm all for fun, lazy, and relaxing.
It was also the first time fishing boy saw me in a super comfy/bummy state. I figure if he still thinks I'm cute when I look like I just got outta bed, then there's a possible future =). He kinda looked the same, so it worked out just fine.
It was a little weird for me, because I met some guys on his boat that I hadn't met before that were straggling on to get some sleep in their lil bunk hole before having to cast off at 3:30. They were all super nice, but I could tell they were definitely checking me out. The fishing community is a very close-knit group from what I've been told, so hopefully I meet their approval. Poor fishing boy is probably getting teased today!
After watching the movie, it was getting late, so I opted to take off so he could get some rest in. Here comes the anxious part....the part where you wonder if there is a big kiss coming, or a kiss coming at all, right?! And the worrying, the part where you don't want to seem awkward....well, I can honestly say I didn't feel awkward at all. It was very sweet actually. He helped me hop off the boat, stepped on over to the dock, gave me a big hug, smiled, and a sweet kiss on the cheek, followed by another big hug. Sigh...very nice feeling =). No heavy pressure, gentleman-ly, respectful...taking it slow. EXACTLY what I need. I got assurance of a call as soon as they get back to try to make some plans for this weekend. My gut is feeling pretty good about this guy, so I'm going to stick with hanging out and getting to know him better.
On a side note, sitting in a boat that's docked that's getting knocked around by the wind....it feels very weird. Kind of a vertigo-type thing since the boats are larger...I'm really really glad I don't get motion sickness. That would be super embarassing!
Moving on to the other candidates updates:
The nerd has texted me a few times this week. He tells bad jokes, but recognizes they are bad jokes, so I suppose that's a good thing? He wants to hang out sometime this weekend, and I think I will...he deserves a chance, right? If I don't feel any spark, then obviously I will know not to pursue this option.
The guy I dated before...haven't heard from him. And I actually don't care to. Scratch one off my list!
