Unfortunately, I don't have the option of going home to have Thanksgiving with my family. Why, you might ask? Well, they are a couple thousand miles away and it's too expensive to go see them for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I just can't take that much time off of work. So, I haven't spent Turkey Day with my fam in 5 years. It sucks, but I have had fun making my own traditions over the years.
In Arizona, most of my Thanksgivings were spent with what I will call my "adoptive family" which is my good friend Monica's family. They own the barn where I used to board my horse and would always adopt me for Thanksgiving. (Personally, I think they were just using me for my corn casserole, but hey...it's all good!)
This year, I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do. Maybe it will just be a day full of drinking mimosas and eating pumpkin pie...hell if I know. A couple friends of mine might be sticking around, and if that is the case, I will probably invite them over to do some sort of potluck thing. I honestly don't think I would have any problem with being a completely lazy bum, laying around and watching the Macy's parade and football games all day. But doesn't that just sound kinda pathetic?
