When DO we actually become adults?

I became an adult. When did that happen?

And what does it mean to be an adult anyway? I'm sure the definition of that is different for everyone, but I can pick out some very specific things that have dawned on me recently.

1.) I'm completely aware that there are always consequences to my actions. (Some people may never grow up...I'm surprised at how many people I know that are completely oblivious when it comes to this one! You see....there's this thing....called responsibility...)

2.) I'm self-reliant. DING DING DING! I can support myself, financially, mentally, physically, emotionally. No matter what happens, I can always count on me.

3.) I can be honest and articulate rationally. (That does not mean that everything that comes out of my mouth is necessarily positive, of course.)

Yeah...that hits all the big points for me. However, please take note: "adult" does not = OLD. (I mean, clearly, I'm the picture of youth...even though I'm playing BINGO in this photo?)

Anyway, sorry for the short post, everyone...my brain hurts today! But, moving forward with the idea of being an adult but staying young, expect a post on childhood toys in the coming days. I bet no one can guess what my favorite toy was growing up.....
