My pimp ride

It has recently come to my attention that I practically LIVE in my Tahoe.

Some things that can be found there:

A couple of blankets
GPS
iPod charger
Phone charger
iPods (yes, multiple)
Cowboy hat
Riding helmet
Two pairs of boots
Two pairs of spurs
CD's (MILLIONS)
Dog water bowl
Dog leash
Water bottles (with varying amounts of water left in them)
Pedicure flip flops (multiple pairs...somehow I just always discard them in my floorboard)
Jumper cables
Gas can
Dirt (yeah, LOTS of dirt)
Turner-pup hair (which does get vacuumed out every few weeks)

By reading the above, you probably think my SUV smells a lot like a horse....and you would probably be right. I would say it's a mix of leather, sweat, and horse. But of course I don't really notice...my nose is completely immune to the horsey-ness.

To complete the mental image of the Tahoe, you can't discount the dent in the back bumper, the dent on the passenger-side door, the scratched on the passenger-side rear wheel well (damn concrete pillar in my parking garage...PILLAR: 2, TAHOE: 0), as well as 4 months worth of dirt and dust from the horse barn and off-roading to hit up hiking trails.

Why yes, my poor beast sure does have some character.
And a SHITLOAD of miles on it.

That's what happens when you move your horse from Indiana to Phoenix, then move yourself from Phoenix to Seattle, then back down to Phoenix and back up to Seattle for a second round with the pony. It seems to take a licking and keep on ticking (most of the time...for a story on road trip disasters, click here). And for more of that story, click here too.

What I have an amusing time looking back on is how differently I treated my first vehicle that was given to me when I turned 16 years old. Being the true southern Indiana girl that I was, my first vehicle was a Camaro. No complaints from me about that at all...it was fairly new, fast (probably too fast), and a beautifully shiny hunter green and black. Sigh. Good times and many miles/memories in that beast.

One thing I will say about it....it was RARELY dirty. That thing was my baby. I used to hand wash it at home about once a week....and I'M NOT JOKING.

Oh well, I suppose the current vehicle just serves a purpose. I wouldn't have the gas guzzler for no particular reason...it's necessary to haul the horse trailer around.

I should try to treat my poor Tahoe better...maybe it's time for a full detail. Or not.

Song of the day: "Creator" Santogold (or Santigold)

Ah yes, the camaro. Still remember doing doughnuts in the snowy parking lot of some apartment complex after we first met. And of course, all the O.G. trips. Good times!
