M.I.A. (not the singer)

I've been sick with the plague this week...or rather, allergies. So, I haven't really kept the creative writing juices going, or had much to say in general. I've been babying myself instead, which is CLEARLY more important.

"Babying" (to me) consists of wearing raggedy t-shirts and shorts, eating comfort food, watching old movies, and listening to my favorite music. Well, it didn't take much to twist my arm into listening to the new Eclipse soundtrack a week ago, but you know how it is when you first listen to an album (or at least for me anyway)...you peruse. I don't listen to the entire song the first time I hear it. Kind of like a breaking news article...if you don't get me curious within the first graph or two, you're likely to lose me. Relative to a song, if you don't get me within the first 30 seconds, I might never listen to it again.

Anyway, to get to the point...I listened to the entire soundtrack again last night for kicks, and I've discovered two songs that I ABSOLUTELY adore. The first one, "Let's Get Lost" by Bat For Lashes and Beck reeled me in right away. It was particularly good to listen to just a twee bit loudly in my truck as well (nice bass line), and well, it's Bat For Lashes with Beck...what's not to like?! The second one, "Jonathan Low" by Vampire Weekend took some more time, but once it got through to the actual chorus of the song, it was totally worth the wait and completely had me hooked.

So, since I try to share these lovely discoveries as much as possible, here you go:
