....an awkward moment. Yeah, I had one of those today. Trés awkward.
I won't get into too many details, only that it involved a conversation with a guy, in which moi got totally tongue-tied, embarrassed, and then completely ditched the situation as quickly as possible. Luckily I had an excuse for said-ditching (thank you, hot yoga...you are more useful than I thought).
Why so awkward, you might wonder? Oh, you know, just a little reminder that I am HUMAN, and when confronted with someone I might have a crush on, I can be shy (I know, I know...some of you might find this hard to believe). Sadly, I get the feeling this crush is probably not reciprocated (I kind of figure if it was, I would know by now), but the aforementioned scenario does bring a little smile to my face. If nothing else, at least I can laugh at myself! And it's always good to know that those type of innocent feelings are still possible.
It reminds me of younger days, when I was still figuring out how to stay comfortable in my skin around boys. So, what did I do tonight to make myself feel better tonight (aside from sweating my ass off at yoga)? Oh you know it...I pulled out some old episodes of my really-not-guilty-but-might-be-considered-a-guilty-pleasure show, Friday Night Lights.
I cannot lie. I am in love with Matt Saracen...and it's totally not because he's the quarterback...it's cause he's a sweet dorky artist-type. But I think I actually identify the most with Tim Riggins (except I'm smarter, of course...but he's hotter, so I guess that balances out, ha!) due to the fact that I always seem to find myself in these somewhat sticky situations, but somehow...and I'm not sure how...I find my way out of them. And I can be quite brooding at times...and feel like I constantly get stuck in my head. Oh, I could go on and on about how awesome this show is, but you honestly just need to check it out for yourself sometime. FOOTBALL coupled with teenage-ish drama....you just can't go wrong.
Song of the day: "Friday Night Lights Theme" W.G. Snuffy Walden and Bennett Salvay (although here it is wrongly credited to Explosions in the Sky)
