To start out, this weekend's weather was absolutely perfect. High 60's...NO FUCKING RAIN. They say it's supposed to rain 9 months out of the year in Seattle. Well, I'm calling bullshit. At least on this year ;). I've been here six months, and I've maybe seen two weeks worth of rain, if that. (Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself.) I think I'm most happy about having weather that's cool enough to wear a hoodie. I miss my hoodie days...they were few and far between in Arizona. I'm doing okay on the fall clothes, but I really need to bite the bullet and buy a new winter coat. I doubt that all of my layering of thin sloppy layers is going to hold up when I'm waiting for the bus in near freezing temperatures in the coming months.
I did however, take care of a buying a few essential accessories for the cold weather. This stocking cap came in the mail for me last week:
Now I can be a punkin head...literally. Tres cute, don't you think? It might seem slightly childish, but you know me, I have zero qualms wearing it with just about anything.
And in the spirit of fall, and since my favorite color is yellow, I just couldn't say no to these...they should be here this week...yay!
You need more than one pair of fingerless gloves, right? I saw these and just had to buy...they even have a pocket for my iPod!
Next on my list to buy (aside from a winter coat)...SCARVES!
Also on my list of weekend awesome-ness. Discovered a lovely dive bar in Capitol Hill that I enjoyed immensely, called Bus Stop. Click here to check it out...love how simple their site is. And SHIT, they have happy hour for four hours...ding ding ding...we have a winner!
And I made it to the pumpkin patch this weekend. Click here to see where I went. And let me tell you, I really got a lot of "bang for my buck." I ended up with 3 big orange pumpkins (only one of which I am going to end up carving, the other two are getting gilded alongside a smaller orange one), 2 medium-sized ghost pumpkins (you know, the white ones...hence "ghost"), 4 orange mini-punkins, and 4 ghost mini-punkins. AND....AND....a roasted ear of corn on the cob. All for the price of $24....CHING. Decorating shall commence tomorrow evening!
Adding further October craziness to the mix....I bought some pumpkin ale at the grocery store last night. MMMMMM....check it out on the Dogfish Head site by clicking here.
Be expecting photos of my lovely punkins in the coming week. What is everyone else doing to get into the fall spirit?
Song of the day: "Want To" Sugarland (cause the whole world could change in a minute!)
