This week is turning out to be a documentary screening week for me for whatever reason. As you can read in a previous post, I watched The Cove recently...click here to check that out. But last night it was all about D tour.
D tour as in....dialysis tour.
This documentary is about Pat Sturgeon, the drummer for the band Rogue Wave, and his personal struggle to find a kidney donor. What you aren't prepared for is a larger story about organ donation in general. The film was much more intense than I expected, which is great for what it is trying to promote...which is, basically, give the gift of life.
Why the hell not, people? Some people think it seems "weird" to them. All I can say is, "What if it was you? What if you needed a donor?" Karma is inevitable...pay it forward. All you have to do is sign up at the DMV.
D Tour also pulls at my heart strings because director/producer of the film, Jim Granato, and Pat Sturgeon himself are both from my home state of Indiana. The film also has some not-so-beautiful shots of The Rhythm Room music venue in Phoenix, Arizona, where I have been many times in the past for some great shows.
For the sake of awareness, please check out the film...it's definitely worth it. Click here to check out the film site. And here's the trailer:

And for the record, all my family and friends out there that are reading this....if you ever need my kidney, it's yours, just let me know.
