Anything you can do, I can do better

Remember when CD's were labeled like this: WARNING: PARENTAL ADVISORY, EXPLICIT LYRICS

I use the past tense "remember" because I don't actually buy CD's anymore. I don't usually buy my mp3's either (download most of my music semi-legally from blogs...maybe?), although I have seen some warnings on them from time-to-time on iTunes whilst perusing.

Well, back in my younger days it was usually rappers and alternative rock bands that sported these labels, and most of the singers/bands were male.

Times have changed, my friends.

That's not to say that women have never been explicit, because they certainly have, only now it appears (to me at least) to be much more mainstream. Case in point....Rihanna. The name of her current album: Rated R. The name of her most popular song at the moment: Rude Boy.

Listen to the song's lyrics and you can OBVIOUSLY tell what she's talking about. And believe me, I'm not being critical...I find it pretty hilarious actually. Guys aren't the only ones that can talk dirty, that's for sure. You tell 'em, woman!

(Other) song of the day: "Ego" The Sounds (cause the chick singing doesn't have a problem being mouthy either)
