Things I want to have the time and/or money to do

It's always the same obstacles. Not enough time in the day, and not enough money in the bank. I can keep dreaming though.

In the mean time, I guess I will just have to make a list, prioritize, and go from there. I've been meaning to get this all together, it just hasn't happened yet. So, here goes...why not kill two birds with one stone?

1.) Finish decorating my apartment. I'm not good at nesting in general, but I've been better here than my previous homes. I have about a million DIY (do-it-yourself) ideas, but the money and time always end up being spent elsewhere. Some decor ideas that I WILL be completing in the near future (if I keep saying it, hopefully it will happen):

a.) building my own headboard (c/o design*sponge)
b.) plate wall display (c/o design*sponge) - if you have any black and white plates you want to get rid of, let me know!
c.) wine bottle wall vases (I love the table and chairs on this link too!) - I already have the bottles I want to use for this, just need to kick it in gear and get this one finished (c/o design*sponge)

(you can't tell that I like design*sponge, can you?)

2.) Take a vacation to New Zealand. I have a friend that lives there for Chrissakes...how much easier can that get? (And I want to see some damn hobbits!)

3.) Take a sewing class. I have been feeling more domestic these days, and this is one thing that I don't know how to do very well yet! Plus, I've heard great things about Stitches' classes in Capitol Hill.

4.) Take a roadtrip to Montana.
But you've heard this one before.... The cool thing is that I am going to be getting my roadtrip to the coast here in a couple weeks...to celebrate my 28th birthday! SWEETNESS!

5.) Get back into rock climbing. I was lucky enough to have a good friend back in Arizona that took me bouldering quite a number of times. Go figure, after I had been in Arizona a year, my good friend moved away! I think I might have a little bit of a lead started on this one though...another friend of mine in Seattle might want to get into this as well, so we could possibly hit up some classes together over at Stone Gardens later on in the summer.

6.) Create a website that I can actually make money from. I have a hugely great idea for this, I just need to sit down and plan out all of the details. (And god knows I need the extra money.)

7.) Try out new recipes and cook more in general. Back to getting all domestic...I must say that I have greatly expanded my cooking abilities in general this year. There have been numerous recipes given over the phone from mi madre (who is the expert home-cookin' master), and I've explored various websites and blogs for special secrets. My favorite spots for recipes online:

a.) We Are Not Martha (gotta love the visuals these ladies provide for everything)

b.) Rachael Ray (searching on her site = brilliant)

This list could be virtually never-ending, but I think I've got some of the important stuff out there for me to continue thinking about. Sometimes it just helps to get it all down...and now I have a reference to look back on!

Song of the day: "Challengers" The New Pornographers (I get to see these guys a week from Monday at Sasquatch!)
